Code of ethics

The standards our journalism follows.

Last updated October 2026

Demo Samachar, published by —, follows the Norms of Journalistic Conduct of the Press Council of India and, where they apply, the Programme Code under the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act, 1995, as the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 refer to them.

What this means for us

  • Accuracy and fairness: we check facts before we publish, give people we criticise a chance to reply, and correct mistakes openly.
  • We do not disclose the identity of victims of sexual offences or of children in conflict with law, and we take care with cases before the courts.
  • Paid content is always labelled as sponsored, advertorial or partner content.
  • We respect privacy and do not publish pictures of private persons without a reason in the public interest.

Complaints

If you think we broke this code, write to our grievance officer, — (—), or use the grievance form.

Parts of these Rules have been challenged in court; this page describes our standards and is not legal advice.
